NSW 50 most disadvantaged areas

Overview

The map below represents the 50 most disadvantaged areas as identified by the 2004 report by Professor Tony Vinson, "Dropping off the Edge". The report found that just 1.7 per cent of postcodes and communities across Australia accounted for more than seven times their share of top rank positions on the major factors that cause intergenerational poverty.

Data for the map has been taken from the Summary Tables. This data can be found at the Dropping off the Edge website.
